Episode 5 is here!

Woohooo, I’m getting back on track, I hope I can keep this pace, so I can slowly catch up with the backlog episode!

Daisuke heard about an illegal loan from Sanjo Bank and thought that this is a perfect opportunity for him to crush Sanjo-Heiwa merger. This episode pretty much is about him trying to do this and that in order to get what he wants.

Meanwhile, Teppei and Hanshin Special Steel experience a problem that Teppei has to fly to USA.

Ginpei and Makiko’s married life is as hellish as ever for Makiko, and Ginpei shows his ruthless side more and more.

Next is episode 6 OMG!!! Can’t wait!!!

I tried to watch one episode at a time so that I don’t spoil myself anything, but I do know Hosokawa is going to show up next episode and he’s done a hell of a job there!!! Now that I finished ep 5, I can finally watch ep 6!!! 🤩

Time for spoilers and ranting www. I have so much to say about this episode!!!

First of all, what’s with this episode!!! Daisuke really gives me the creeps! OMG! He’s really showing his true nature here! When I first saw this version of Daisuke, I thought he was mild and weak, but OMG WHERE HAS THAT IMAGE GONE TO? This Daisuke is… creepy, evil, ambitious, cunning, clever, and merciless!!! He smirked/laughed/grinned so many times in this episode and he gets me the shivers every time OMG!!! Okay Nakai Kiichi, I will never compare you to 2007 Daisuke again, trust me, this is so creepy!

This scene in quite the beginning of the episode… OMG, I can only see him from behind but the sound of his laughter!!! CREEEPPPYYYYYY 😱😱😱

Daisuke and Teppei’s relationship just got worsen each time… but damn Daisuke’s laugh is creepy. I keep saying he’s creepy, I can’t think of any other word! 🙈

And I think the highlight of this episode, is the “negotiation” happening between Daisuke and Minister Nagata. Gosh these two people… they keep saying things with implied meaning, looking all gentle and fair outside but inside they’re scheming all the evil things!!! I literally got goosebumps listening to their conversation!!! Gyaaaa!!!

Then here comes Ginpei. This guy also gets me really frustrated. WHAT DO YOU WANT GINPEI ARRRGGGHHH!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!! I mean, Ginpei’s coldness starts to feel unreasonable for me, like what’s the deal with him!?!? They’d better tell us some background story about Ginpei and what made him like this, otherwise I will go GRRAWWWWRRR!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Well, I do know they will have flashbacks of Ginpei and Akiko in ep 6? So I’ll see for myself then hahaha.

Ginpei… I’m really speechless, you know… Speechless as in… I thought he’d at least have mercy on the poor bored lady. I thought he’d at least realize that it’s mostly his fault, and if he wanted, he could make things better. BUT. HE. DECIDED. TO. SAY. THAT. HURTFUL. THING. INSTEAD!!! Ginpei whyyyyyyyy!!! 😭😭😭 Seeing Makiko looking like that really hurts me, I feel like my life is also over 💔💔💔 (no I’m exaggerating).

This annoying family gathering lol ⬇️. The same old questions. Oh gosh, I can see how the 2nd generation are so uncomfortable there especially Ginpei and Makiko. But Ichiko is such an angel… 🥺

Ginpei, stop smoking and man up, will you!!! But gosh he looks smoking hot though 🙈 I’m crazy like I keep complaining about his attitude and yet I can’t help myself swooning over his every gesture LOL.

Oh gosh come on, here comes the pesky ojiisan. The one every family has. The one you see in every family gathering. You know, I respect him for being a good father-in-law to Teppei and all, but gosh, his words are such a disgrace to women!!! I was really angry when I translated this hahaha. I guess this really shows the patriarchal view the eastern countries are in.

And yet he’s so kind to Teppei, he makes Teppei smile like this, I… ARRGGGHH I just hope Teppei can be happy. I can see his problems about to start coming one by one… Hang in there, Teppei… 😢

Oh, but I also love this very rare scene of Daisuke and Ginpei ⬇️. Ginpei looks so innocent and obedient when he’s with his father! Unlike when he’s with Makiko ARRGHHH!! Seriously, he only looks like that when he’s with Makiko, LIKE… WHY!?!?!?

Daisuke is creepy. Ginpei is cute. Daisuke is creepy. Ginpei is cute… that’s what has been looping in my head when I watched this scene hahaha but at one point everything becomes messed up and I’m like Ginpei is creepy Daisuke is cute, and like… huh what did I just say??? 🤣

Thank God there’s at least some sweet scene among the frustrating scenes so far. Tsugiko and Yoshihiko are so cute! Awww but Hosokawa will come into picture from next episode 😅😅😅 I guess there will soon be progress about these two.

Is it just me, or Shinkawa Yua’s make up was a bit… weird? I mean, this lady is pretty, but why I feel like something is a bit off about her looks here? Maybe it’s the fake eyelashes 😅 I saw a flashback shot of her and Ginpei and she looks stunning as always though. Let’s hope it’s just this one scene.

Oh and this ending scene ⬇️! I don’t know why, but I was blown away by Daisuke’s expression here. I know I’m comparing it again with 2007, I’ve been anticipating how he would look like since the storyline is different, but this… like WHOA. Daisuke… I can’t really interpret his expression, it has mixed emotions and thinking and somehow it has flatness to it too… like, how does he really feel about Okawa? Does he bear no ill intention to him at all? Because in 2007 he’s kind of rejoicing when Okawa died? I seriously don’t understand, but again, he gives me the creeps here. This Daisuke is just excellent…!!!

LOL that was long hahaha. Didn’t expect to write this long, but this episode is THAT provoking and got me thinking a lot!
