Kareinaru Ichizoku 2021 (WOWOW) Masterpost

I’ve made up my mind! I’ll sub this drama! Damn. I can’t believe I’m doing this.

I’ve been contemplating sooooo much about this. I was afraid I’m not capable enough, in both Japanese and English skills. I mean, the language! The economic and historical and technical terms!!! It’s such a heavy drama with packed plot, even watching the 2007 one with subs I still get dizzy. I know, most of the people will say I can’t do this too. Heck, I’m still contemplating even as I’m writing this post!!

And yet, I’m so tempted to sub this! I mean. Look at the GORGEOUS casts! Many of my fave actors/actresses are here! Don’t get me starting on Fujigaya and Miyata, which are mainly the reason why I’m willing to work my ass off to sub this.

But aside of them!! This line-up!! Are you kidding me!?!?!?

There are like 30+ casts on their official website and it’s too troublesome for me to save them one by one so I’m only posting the ones I like, but even these alone already so many!?!?

But… I think I’m going to take this as a challenge. I’ve been subbing mostly for fun and my love for Kisumai, but this time I’m going to do it more for myself. I NEED to understand this drama. I MUST. And I’m so excited by the thought of this challenge!

I realize it will require a complex level of Japanese comprehension and English writing, which I hope I’ll be able to deliver well. Please be easy on me. I started testing the water by trying to sub the 25 mins complete guide that aired sometime early March. And oh boy, subbing that alone takes me DAYS to even work some hundreds of lines. Well, it didn’t help that the complete guide didn’t have jp sub so I had to rely everything on my listening, but shoot the language that they used! I’ll release that complete guide hopefully before the drama airs, and let’s get this going!!! Let’s announce this big project!

Manpyo Daisuke (Nakai Kiichi) is the owner and president of Hanshin Bank which is ranked in tenth place in terms of volume of deposits at a time when Japan is enjoying rapid economic growth. He heads the Manpyo group of companies which consist of Hanshin Steel, Manpyo Real Estate, Manpyo Trading and Manpyo Warehouses. The family has gained wealth and power through family connections in Kansai’s business circles. When Daisuke hears about the move to reorganise the city’s banks from his eldest daughter Ichiko’s (Mimura Rie) husband Ataru (Kaname Jun) who is an elite Ministry of Finance official, he swings into action with a plan to prevent Hanshin Bank from being absorbed by a higher ranked bank and to fight for survival. Behind the scenes, a love-hate drama unfurls within the family from discord between father and sons (Mukai Osamu, Fujigaya Taisuke) to wife (Aso Yumi) and mistress (Uchida Yuki).

Hi there. Is it possible to get softsubs for this series? I’m studying Japanese and I need to be able to turn them off when necessary. I’m a regular at drama addicts and a member of Avistaz and I don’t put up other people’s subtitles. You seem to be putting down your English a bit (not sure if you’re not a native speaker) so I’d be happy to help with proofreading (I’m a native English speaker and I have a graduate diploma in creative writing, as well as a Master’s Degree in medicine). Or buy you a coffee.
