Hi, this is 4th episode of DK Furoba!
This episode is more like a drama than a comedy show (unlike previous 3 episodes), so there are fewer lines than usual. And Taki-san wasn’t really there the whole episode, which makes it SO MUCH easier to listen to their conversation LOL. Now I realize that Taki-san’s tsukkomis are what make it so troublesome to sub lol. He just can’t shut his mouth LOLOLOL.
Since it’s mostly a drama, there’s almost nothing to write in the translation notes, but there are some stuff that I’d like to explain.
Translation notes:
- Unlike the previous episodes, the member poster parody didn’t get a close up shot, so there’s no chance for me to write about it. But it shows Kisumai’s Senga, and the poster said “Busaiku Lotion”. Busaiku is a sub-group of Kisumai which means “ugly”, and I think “Lotion” is because Senga is famous for his attention to skincare.
- On this episode preview last episode, I wrote the episode title “Marney, My Love”. But when I tried to research some more, the guy’s name マニー is more suitable to be translated to Manny. (Marney has one more dash マーニー) So I used Manny the whole episode.
- Throughout this episode, Taki-san sang 3 songs, which I couldn’t figure out what the first song was. But I didn’t see any similarities between the songs or is there any references to the episode, so I think he only sang it because the lyrics probably fits his mood. Besides, he was really off-tune so if I didn’t look up the lyrics, I wouldn’t know the songs at all (even when I listened to the real song, damn he was so off tune LOL)
- The thing with Hashimoto-san. I figured that the surname “Hashimoto” tends to be mentioned fast, almost as if omitting the last “to”. Like I heard some Hashimotos are called Hashimocchan or something. So I think that’s why Shin always calls her “Hashimossan” and she always corrects him because she wants her name be mentioned properly Ha-Shi-Mo-To.

I was mesmerized by this smile so much that I kind of went blank and didn’t get what they were talking about LOL.
